LIFE is BEAUTIFUL!

WISDOM

To understand reality is not the same as to know about outward events. It is to perceive the essential nature of things. The best-informed man is not necessarily the wisest. Indeed there is a danger that precisely in the multiplicity of his knowledge he will lose sight of what is essential. But on the other hand, knowledge of an apparently trivial detail quite often makes it possible to see into the depth of things. And so the wise man will seek to acquire the best possible knowledge about events, but always without becoming dependent upon this knowledge. To recognize the significant in the factual is wisdom. Dietrich Bonhoeffer:

THOUGHTS TO PONDER

Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus.---RALPH WALDO EMERSON

Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.---ABRAHAM LINCOLN
There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state to another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life.---ALEXANDRE DUMAS
“It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes... we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions - especially selfish ones" --- Alexander Solzhenitsyn quotes (Russian novelist, Nobel Prize for Literature (1970), b.1918)
“Wisdom ceases to be wisdom when it becomes too proud to weep, too grave to laugh, and too selfish to seek other than itself.” ---Kahlil Gibran

Ladies NIGHT OUT -Dinner and Drinks

I've been living alone in years and since then I seldom went out due to my schedules and yes, safety concerns. The last thing I don't want to find myself is taking the cab alone to home. I'm glad this time I made it as a friend offer her place for me to spend the night with after the spree. Spending time with friends in a similar setting is therapeutic especially when there are a lot of things or concerns to mind to as apparently the situation I am now. That is aside from meeting some other new Filipinos.

It is timely a friend, Angie met a Filipina, Janine who spend her days here in Bangkok in her apartment. Her place is of daily basis, or a monthly rent and just a few days ago this Filipina got to the apartment after spending some time in a hotel. It's quite practical as she'll be spending more days in Bangkok and she has to wait for her work permit renewal in Dubai which she has no clue when everything be completed. It is very helpful that the kind of apartment where my friend, Angie stays offers daily rates and it is very economical. In fact, I heard that many German students come to the place also in the same purpose as they're staying in the city longer.

We started the night with a dinner in another friend's place at Conrad. Cherai was nice enough to cook some food for us and we, too brought a squid dish the Filipina guest, Janine cooked for us.  It was great she taught me as well how to cook the dish! I was there when she prepared the squid soup with coconut. After the meal, we headed to Grand Sukhumvit in Nana  as Janine's best friend is one of the singers in the hotel. We had a good time, it was relaxing to listen to their music, their genre is jazzy and mellow and you can just imagine how soothing the songs are to the ears. I made a few song requests as "Inseparable" and Janine's best friend sang it well. It was definitely satisfying.  We had drinks, the chats and pictures to complete the night. Here they are.

Definitely ALL Pinays! ;)
