LIFE is BEAUTIFUL!

WISDOM

To understand reality is not the same as to know about outward events. It is to perceive the essential nature of things. The best-informed man is not necessarily the wisest. Indeed there is a danger that precisely in the multiplicity of his knowledge he will lose sight of what is essential. But on the other hand, knowledge of an apparently trivial detail quite often makes it possible to see into the depth of things. And so the wise man will seek to acquire the best possible knowledge about events, but always without becoming dependent upon this knowledge. To recognize the significant in the factual is wisdom. Dietrich Bonhoeffer:

THOUGHTS TO PONDER

Life is a train of moods like a string of beads; and as we pass through them they prove to be many colored lenses, which paint the world their own hue, and each shows us only what lies in its own focus.---RALPH WALDO EMERSON

Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.---ABRAHAM LINCOLN
There is neither happiness nor misery in the world; there is only the comparison of one state to another, nothing more. He who has felt the deepest grief is best able to experience supreme happiness. We must have felt what it is to die, that we may appreciate the enjoyments of life.---ALEXANDRE DUMAS
“It is not because the truth is too difficult to see that we make mistakes... we make mistakes because the easiest and most comfortable course for us is to seek insight where it accords with our emotions - especially selfish ones" --- Alexander Solzhenitsyn quotes (Russian novelist, Nobel Prize for Literature (1970), b.1918)
“Wisdom ceases to be wisdom when it becomes too proud to weep, too grave to laugh, and too selfish to seek other than itself.” ---Kahlil Gibran

Thailand's Re-entry Permit Requirements

It took days for me to search the requirements as it's my first time getting the re-entry permit  not in the airport. Last year they changed  rules making it unavailable at the airport so one should get the re-entry at the nearest immigration office. Way back, I just had to bring with me my boarding pass, passport, picture of course plus completing the form.

Anyway, I went to the immigration office yesterday for that purpose, the traffic was a bit slow I got there by 11:00a.m. . I was pretty sure I could get my things done in the afternoon and I was right.

I had this guy I rode with in the same shuttle bus but he got his before lunchtime. What's the difference? Perhaps he made all the documents he needed prepared, I didn't.

Those were photocopies of the main passport page with my data , recent visa page and the entry form attached to my passport. Then I had them submitted along with the required form distributed at the immig office entrance plus the photo.

I got my stuff done by 11:30 considering me going to the basement for photocopies. I think the immigration officers do work fast. It's a bit laborious for them to announce each queue as the system wasn't working. The transaction was on C2, no worries the queue attendant guides anyway where the counter is and it's on the left.  I can remember clearly that the number was still 79 for the passport claim when I got there, my number was 141 still on the submitting.

At twelve o'clock the queue was  135 then they went on until 138. I knew for sure nobody hold the 139 and 140 queue as during the submission of documents nobody stood for the numbers and  as to claim, 141 was supposedly next but oopsss, it was 12:05 and we were told it was lunch break.  It made me really smile.

I commend the officers imagine from 79 to almost 140 in less than half an hour doing the stamps is quite speedy for me. I had lunch at Chesters downstairs and returned at 1pm. I got my passport back really quick.

I made the day getting my re-entry. And by the way, Immigration office opens at 8:30.am.-12:00noon then 1:00pm to 4:30p.m. from Mondays to Fridays except holidays.

Surprising morning!

I had  a good time at work yesterday had fun with students. They were so lovely! After work, I went to one of my faves, KFC satisfying my craving, yes, I had my orders upsized! :D

Thought of dropping by The Mall but guess I used up my time for dinner so headed home straight after. I had green tea and did some stuff on the net, I could't sleep and opted to play with pictures.

It's almost 9am, I just woke up and wait, something is wrong with my lips! I can feel they're dry and was surprised seeing myself in the mirror, it's waaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got CUTS! I must have bitten myself in my sleep, yeah? :( This is not the first time that happen though, for once I also experienced waking up with blood in my mouth, lots of it. I had to run to the bathroom quick, I was so shocked  what I found in there. No worries, I had probs with my tooth that time was the cause.

On the other hand, oh dear, I'm supposed to go out today.

MARCHING on

Okay, I knew it as March already but was a bit unaware that I haven't updated this blog yet. lolol! Let's check, it's  March 5, hmm..not too late I guess.

This is the month of my fifth year in Thailand. So far, so good and I'm enjoying my sense of independence. Perhaps because my work which is my ultimate reason of coming here is doing well. That I'm thankful and blessed.

I have to work on grades today  which have been "frozen" for days already as I didn't like to do anything except nothing and yes, "facebooking"! :D

I hope then to finish all the grades and will head out for some errands after.  Tomorrow is back to work and will have to do some paperworks and get some documents for the re-enty permit. Next week will be busier for personal errands plus the packing. And oh, I have an invite for a good friend's graduation this Monday.

Went out yesterday for some shopping ended up getting five pairs of shoes, it's a record breaker for me, I made it buying stuff up to three pairs but five was my first! It was fun though I felt better.

Okay, I don't have much time in my hands right now will start doing the work and finish within the day by hook or by crook! :D

Marching on as it's sem break but loads of things to do still  and to work on..of course not counting this so- called  INERTIA.
